Take Care Of Your Family And Your Environment

Oportfolio’s initiative to protect your family financially and protect our environment

WHAT IS THE OPORTFOLIO TAKE CARE CAMPAIGN?

In 2020, the world experienced one of the most unprecedented and unexpected events in living memory with the COVID-19 pandemic. As most of us were encouraged to isolate at home, we all had time to stop and consider the more important things in life. Keeping our families safe, financial security, social responsibility, environmental responsibility, and community engagement.

As a team, we want to make sure that no one finds themselves in serious financial difficulty if something happens to them that is out of their hands. We also wanted to make sure that our business practices are both eco-friendly and sustainable. That’s why we have launched a campaign to promote financial protection for families and environmental protection for the planet.

Dare to Hope Documentary

In February 2022, world renowned wildlife photographer Harry Skeggs, Putney resident and friend of Oportfolio set out on an excursion to the Antarctic and surrounding areas to document the incredible beauty of the animals and habitat that they live in.

Harry and his team have created a documentary that follows his journey to capture the ‘holy trinity’ of light, subject, and location. Harry hopes to change the way that people think about the natural world and encourage people to consciously act to preserve our environment for future generations.

Oportfolio wholeheartedly shares Harry’s passion for wildlife conservation, so we are proud to announce ourselves as a major sponsor of Harry’s journey to the Antarctic alongside big names such as Nikon.

His 35-minute documentary ‘Dare To Hope’ will premiere at the May Fair Hotel in London on the 8th of September 2022.

“South Georgia is a beautiful example
of where all of us have come together
to protect it. It really shows how if we
do act, we can preserve these places.”

How to get involved

The purpose of this campaign is for everyone to take a step back and look at what we are currently doing, and what we can do to play our part to protect the environment. That’s why we’re supporting the WWF’s adopt a penguin initiative. Penguins like the ones that Harry, and his team filmed in ‘Dare to Hope’ are extremely vulnerable to climate change. Penguins depend on sea ice for their
main food source, but parts of the Antarctic Ocean are warming rapidly due to climate change.

By adopting a penguin for as little as £3 a month, you will help the WWF to support these penguins by; improving the management of Antarctica’s resources and safeguarding its wildlife, establishing a network of marine protected areas covering at least 10% of the 20 million km² Southern Ocean, reducing illegal and unsustainable fishing practices, and raising awareness of the threats of climate change across the globe. Adopt a penguin today through the WWF website.
