Why personal protection insurance matters

personal protection

Personal protection insurance may not be on your mind right now. With Christmas close and festivities at hand, you’re unlikely to be wondering what type of personal protection cover you may need. But wouldn’t it be nice to start the New Year at ease, knowing that you and your family are covered against the unpredictable circumstances of life?

One of the reasons I set up Oportfolio in 2008 was to offer our clients succinct and clear advice on both protection and insurance, and I’m happy to say that it’s still our job today.

At Oportfolio, one of our specialist areas is protecting our clients. Our aim is to ensure whatever happens in life, money is still there for them, and for their family and for their loved ones. This can cover anything from loss of earnings to life assurance, private medical insurance or key man insurance and critical illness cover.

Finding the right personal protection insurance

Needless to say, there are plenty of policies to choose from. With so many companies offering deals on insurance, it can be daunting to choose the right one for your needs and the one that will provide you with the money you need, when you need it. The most suitable option can depend on many factors and variables, which is why I have collated a few simple ideas to get you started.

You may be a single person who is thinking of buying their first house, or perhaps you have just started operating your own business – in your case, it may be a good option to take out loss of earnings or key man insurance.

You may be a parent of a young family – although it is not a comfortable thought, you might want to consider taking out critical illness cover, so you can carry on enjoying the good moments in life with your family and gain some valuable breathing-space, safe in the knowledge that you and your loved ones are covered in case a misfortune were to strike.

These are just ideas. Of course, making the right decision for your individual circumstances requires a longer conversation with your adviser, where you can assess all the variables and sift through the types of insurance covers on offer, matching the right one to your needs.

Speak to personal protection insurance experts

To aid you with the process, we have a fantastic team of advisers at Oportfolio, whose job it is to do just that – to sit down with you and work out which cover is most suited for your circumstances and budget. I have been advising my loyal client base since 1998, and since launching Oportfolio in 2008 I have been able to add reliable and expert members to my team, to make sure you receive the best advice for your requirements.

We appreciate that talking about personal protection insurance is not always an easy conversation to have, so it is our job to make you feel comfortable and well-informed. We will sit down with you, listen to your needs and search the panel of insurance providers to find the one most suited to your requirements, within your agreed budget.

Our clients can vouch for our commitment, and would recommend us to others. In the last nine years ,we have been able to find the right personal insurance cover for the individual needs of a number of our customers. We have developed a loyal client database, who trust in our expert advice when it comes to personal protection insurance.

Here is what just one of our clients, Patrick Eve, has said about the service he received:

“We wholeheartedly recommended working with Olly and the Oportfolio team. They supported us brilliantly from start to finish and communicated quickly and clearly throughout. They really know their stuff and get the job done faster than anyone else.”

We want to do the same for you – so that you can plan your holidays and the year ahead, safe in the knowledge that you, your business or your loved ones are protected against the unexpected circumstances of life. We will be there, offering personal advice to you, every step of the way.

Your property may be repossessed if you do not keep up with repayments on your mortgage.
